2 Methods to Finding Wild Goose NestsPlaying in the dead of winter, like so many of us in Northern Europe, can be a nightmare if you're looking for an opportunity to hunt down those elusive dead-free wild Goose Mates, or simply hunt down that perfect and high yielding Duck Hunt. In order to avoid this, we can look to the 'search waterside' for some excellent Goose hunting. Using the 3 essential methods here, we should be able to find plenty of them in no time!Of course, in order to be successful in locating these majestic beings, you must have some knowledge of their location. If you've ever been to the South of England, you'll know just how well located these creatures are, but on the other side of the Atlantic, these things live all over the world, to all sorts of extremes. When you're in the middle of winter and things in your backyard have frozen to the ground, it's important to get out there and start finding them!The first method is to try and locate the Dead-Free Goose Nests. One of the great things about the Goose is that they don't use their call until they're ready to eat, thus making them harder to spot. However, if you're lucky enough to find a few, they are surrounded by a thick layer of snow. What you need to do is freeze the area of the woods at a very low temperature (possibly by turning off the heat) and dig out any frozen organic materials, like dead plants, which may still be intact from the previous year.Once you've got the Dead-Free Goose Nests out of the way, you need to keep digging around them until you find one or two Goose Mates. Since the best hunters tend to congregate in these areas, you need to get in there and join in. By keeping an eye on the nests, you should be able to pick out any weaklings that have decided to leave. Once you've located a pair, make sure you work out a plan with the Goose as to how you're going to lure it into the water, and then take the shot. If you're lucky, you should get one, as the best place to 'double ' a shot is where the Goose is actually trying to leave - so the more Goose Mates you have, the more 'pressure' the potential hunter has on the Duck.Of course, the key here is in using these 2 methods: freezing a Dead-Free Goose Nest and then setting it off. Once you've done this, you should be good to go, and start searching, even without the aid of a net!These methods of searching for Wild Goose Hunts will prove invaluable to your efforts!
